Car Accident
The firm’s car accident lawyers have extensive experience handling all types of motor vehicle collision cases in New York City. They assist clients who have suffered injuries in car crashes, helping them pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages. The attorneys conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, negotiate with insurance companies, and take cases to trial if needed to secure maximum compensation for their clients.
Construction Accidents
Construction sites are inherently dangerous workplaces, and workers can suffer severe injuries from falls, falling objects, machinery accidents, and other incidents. The firm’s construction accident attorneys are well-versed in New York labor laws and OSHA regulations. They investigate to determine liability, whether from general contractors, subcontractors, property owners, or equipment manufacturers, and pursue maximum compensation for injured workers.
Truck Accidents
Given the size and weight of commercial trucks, collisions involving these vehicles often result in catastrophic injuries or fatalities. The firm’s truck accident lawyers understand the complexities of these cases, including federal trucking regulations, hours of service rules, and the need to preserve evidence like black box data. They fight to hold negligent truckers, trucking companies, and other liable parties accountable for their clients’ losses.
Bicycle Accidents
Cyclists are particularly vulnerable when sharing the road with larger vehicles. The firm’s bicycle accident attorneys protect the rights of injured cyclists, pursuing claims against negligent drivers, municipalities responsible for poorly maintained roads, and other at-fault parties. They help clients recover compensation for medical bills, lost income, pain and suffering, and the repair or replacement of damaged bicycles.
Traumatic Brain Injury
Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) can have devastating, life-altering consequences. The firm’s lawyers handling TBI cases work closely with medical experts to fully understand the extent and long-term effects of their clients’ injuries. They fight to secure compensation for ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, lost earnings, in-home assistance, and other costs associated with TBIs.
Nursing Home Abuse
The firm’s nursing home abuse lawyers hold long-term care facilities accountable for neglect, physical abuse, emotional abuse, financial exploitation, and other forms of mistreatment of elderly residents. They fight to obtain compensation for their clients’ injuries, pain and suffering, and the costs of relocating to a safe facility. The attorneys also work to implement systemic changes to improve conditions and prevent future abuse.
Slip and Fall Accidents
Slip and fall accidents can occur due to hazardous conditions like wet floors, poor lighting, uneven surfaces, or lack of handrails. The firm’s premises liability lawyers represent clients injured in slip and fall incidents at businesses, residential properties, and other locations. They investigate to establish liability and negligence, and pursue claims against property owners, management companies, and other responsible parties.
Workplace Accidents
Workplace accidents can leave employees with severe injuries and unable to return to work. The firm’s workplace accident attorneys assist injured workers in obtaining workers’ compensation benefits, including coverage for medical treatment, partial wage replacement, and disability benefits. They also evaluate third-party liability claims against contractors, manufacturers, or other non-employer entities to maximize their clients’ recovery.
Automatic doors accidents
Automatic door designed for convenience and accessibility, can sometimes malfunction and cause serious injuries. One particularly dangerous scenario is when an automatic door unexpectedly falls down on an unsuspecting person. This type of incident can result in traumatic injuries, such as:
Crush injuries – If the door falls directly on a person’s limbs or body, the immense weight and force can lead to severe crush injuries, including broken bones, internal bleeding, and tissue damage. Head and brain injuries – A falling automatic door striking someone’s head can cause traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) like concussions, skull fractures, and even life-threatening hemorrhages or swelling in the brain. Spinal cord injuries – The impact of a heavy door crashing down on a person’s back or neck can potentially cause devastating spinal cord injuries, leading to paralysis or other long-term neurological impairments.
In such cases, the property owner or management company may be held liable for failing to properly maintain and inspect the automatic door system, allowing a hazardous condition to persist. Victims of these accidents often require extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation and may face long-term disabilities, making it crucial to seek legal representation to pursue compensation for their injuries and losses.
Get Quick Answers to Your Concerns
Explore our FAQs for quick answers to common legal questions. Whether you need information about our services, the legal process, or client expectations, we provide the clarity you need.
This is a difficult question to answer because it depends on the facts of the case. If liability is clear, the case should settle faster than usual. If liability is strongly contested, it may take much longer.
Yes. I am licensed to practice law anywhere in New York State and have represented people throughout the state. I am able to keep travel expenses to a minimum because it is possible to attend most hearings and depositions via zoom or other electronic platforms. Similarly, whenever possible, I retain expert witnesses who live close to the legal venue in order to keep costs to a minimum.
Scheduling in law can be frustrating. Important events like trials often need to be planned months ahead because it's hard to find dates that work for everyone involved. This includes judges, lawyers, witnesses, and court staff. The saying 'Hurry up and wait' describes this well. Delays are common and usually out of a lawyer's control, which can be very annoying.
The “fee” is what compensates the law firm for the professional services and expertise it provides to the client. Costs, on the other hand, refer to expenses required in order to move the case forward, and are always paid by the law firm at the time they become necessary. Typical costs may include payment of the filing fee, medical records, facility records, postage, court reporter charges, witness charges, expert witness charges, deposition transcripts, and reasonable travel expenses. The law firm is reimbursed for the costs of litigation at the conclusion of the case, but only if a recovery was obtained for the client.
Yes. An estate would need to be set up for the deceased individual and the family would need to select a personal representative of the estate. The personal representative would then be the individual who sues on behalf of the estate of the deceased person. It takes some extra time because it requires court approval, but it is not a problem. The law firm pays for it up front because it is a cost of litigation.
This is a scary question to answer because I usually don’t have enough information to answer it at first. It depends on a lot of different factors such as the insurance coverage limits, nature and extent of the injury, how the injury occurred, and the people involved (esp. the defense attorneys, experts and insurance adjusters). My opinion often fluctuates as I find out more information about these factors.
